A controlling spouse micromanages every detail for 9 years. The abused spouse works and cares for the children - and stays in the marriage for the sake of their 3 children. After 9 years, the abused spouse begins to resist outrageous demands.  The abuser cannot tolerate independence, and demands - and gets - a divorce.  The Beis Din allocates appropriate shared custody.  The abuser cannot tolerate the abused spouse having independent time with the children.  So the abuser fabricates story after story to show incompetence! When it doesn’t work, the abuser fabricates accusations that could, chas v’shalom, result in jail time!

 

Did you assume the abuser is the husband and the abused is the wife? In this case, the abuser is the wife and has the advantage of assumed rights to the children. The husband is not willing to give up his kids and let them be raised by an emotionally disturbed and abusive woman. The authorities, unfortunately, have to treat each accusation as real until disproven. He has to defend himself against repeated and escalating charges. The husband has many witnesses to her abusive tactics. The truth will prevail, but the legal costs are staggering!!!
